UK indices closed higher; Investing.com in the UK 100, up 1.31%, by Investing.com
Investing.com – The UK Stock Exchange closed higher on Tuesday; Sector gains, indexes lead higher.
At the close in London, it was up 1.31% to hit a new one-month high.
Among the leading stocks today in the session was Carnival PLC (LON :), which increased its value by 4.99%, or 81.2 points, and traded at 1,707.0 at the close. They are followed by the SSE PLC (LON :), which advanced 4.39%, 64.00 points to close at 1,521.00, and Antofagasta PLC (LON :), which rose 3.75% or 63.50 points, ended the session at 1,756.00.
NK came at the bottom of the index Rosneft PAO DRC (LON 🙂 fell 3.82%, or 0.28 points, to close at 7.05. Meanwhile, GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO cut DRC (LON 🙂 3.51%, 1.09 points, and closed at 29.97, while Sberbank of Russia (LON 🙂 3.44%, 0, 52 points, closing at 14.60.
The green numbers outnumbered the reds on the London Stock Exchange by 1633 to 661, which was a constant 194.
Gold futures for June delivery rose 0.97%, or 16.75, to $ 1,745.55 an ounce. Regarding other commodities, crude oil futures for May delivery rose 1.84%, or $ 1.08, to remain at $ 59.73 a barrel, while Brent crude oil futures for June delivery rose 1.64%, 1.02, to $ 63.17 a barrel.
The GBP / USD was down 0.41% to 1.3840, while EUR / GBP was up 0.78% to 0.8563.
The dollar index fell 0.21% to 92.403.
