French bus driver dies after brutal attack by passengers who refused to wear face masks

A French bus driver has died soon after he was savagely beaten by passengers who refused to put on face masks.

Primary Minister Jean Castex verified Philippe Monguillot’s dying on Friday.

Monguillot was hospitalized and declared mind dead right after the July 5 attack at a bus prevent in Bayonne, in southwest France.

His 18-year-previous daughter, Marie Monguillot, informed Agence France-Presse that doctors and the relatives made the decision it was time “to let him go” and get him off existence support.

Monguillot was dragged off his No. 810 bus and violently overwhelmed and kicked in the head just after he asked 4 travellers to dress in face masks, the Bayonne prosecutor reported. Masks are essential on French community transportation simply because of the coronavirus pandemic.

4 people are in custody, authorities explained.

Inside Minister Gerald Darmanin traveled to meet Monguillot’s widow soon after news of his loss of life.

“This bus driver was only doing his job,” Darmanin stated. “He remaining his dwelling in the morning and did not appear again, leaving a widow and 3 orphan girls. It is an unquestionably odious act.”

The widow, Veronique Monguillot, explained she advised Darmanin that the family was “destroyed” by the brutal attack and termed for “exemplary punishment” of those convicted of the slaying.

“We ought to bang a fist on the desk, so this in no way happens yet again,” she explained. “It’s barbaric, not regular. We will have to quit this massacre.”
