This year’s semi-finals referees sealed former BGT winner Ashley Banjo, who is chair of the jury Simon Cowell, after a strange bike accident in Los Angeles.

The first glimpse of the musical opening ceremony on Saturday comes after the series gave fans a sneak peek at the show’s new, socially distant jury ahead of its first semi-final this weekend.

Simon, 60, is forced to withdraw from BGT after breaking his back during a cycling accident, and is replaced by variety star Ashley Banjo.

After news of her promotion, Amanda told MailOnline: “I will vote on the musical stage to the end if I need to cast a critical vote!”

Eight contestants will perform in each semi-finals and the judges will choose one season to continue. The second finalist will then be chosen by public vote upon the episode broadcast.

The series will then culminate in the live final, in October, where one film will triumph as British Got Talent 2020 champion and win a £ 250,000 prize plus a coveted role in The Royal Variety Performance.

British’s Got Talent returns on Saturday 8pm on ITV.
