Kobo’s $99.99 Nia is its new entry-amount e-reader
Kobo is introducing a new entry-amount e-reader to its lineup, the $99.99 Nia, which slots in beneath the $119.99 Clara Hd design (which is sticking about). Whilst both of those types have a 6-inch screen, the Nia’s $20 savings occur with a bit worse specs in a several spots when compared to its marginally pricier sibling.
Exclusively, the Nia has a a little decrease-resolution display screen (212 ppi, compared to 300 ppi on the Clara High definition), a typical backlight (as opposed to the Clara HD’s colour temperature-changing options), and weighs 8 grams (about a quarter of an ounce) heavier. The Clara Hd also has a painted complete, though the Nia does not.
But the comparison to Kobo’s have products and solutions is a lot less important than how the Nia matches up from Amazon’s Kindle lineup. And when the $99.99 Nia fees $10 additional than Amazon’s $89.99 entry-amount Kindle, it does present a better bang for your buck. The foundation Kindle nevertheless has an sad to say low-resolution display (at 147 ppi) and features just fifty percent the storage of the Nia (which has 8GB of onboard memory, versus 4GB on the 2019 Kindle).
It’s a harder decision in contrast to Amazon’s newest Paperwhite design, although, which matches the Nia on storage, has an even greater 300 ppi show, and offers IPX8 waterproofing. At $129.99, it’s markedly far more high-priced than both the Nia or the Clara Hd, but it can often be found on sale for as lower as $84.99, which would make the selection a little bit more durable.
The Kobo Nia will be readily available on July 21st, with preorders beginning now.
