China recorded 19 new cases of coronavirus on land on Monday, the National Health Commission (NHC) announced on Tuesday.

Of the new cases, 11 were imported and eight were transferred locally. Local cases include seven from Beijing, along with a case from Shanghai. No new deaths were reported.

The capital continues to announce new cases, despite what local officials called an epidemic at a wholesale food market “basically contained” last week.

In addition, the NHC reported four new asymptomatic cases. Currently, 99 asymptomatic patients are under medical supervision.

To date, 83,531 cases of coronavirus have been registered in China, killing 4,634.

So far, 78,469 patients have been discharged, the health agency announced.

This comes with 400,000 residents in Anxin County, Hebei Province, subject to new locking measures amid a small increase in cases.

Anxin, a relatively rural and sparsely populated county, is located about 90 miles (145 km) south of Beijing, which has been on strike in the last two weeks in coronavirus cases linked to the Xinfadi market.
