Zac Brown, July 4th, live stream concert
The Grammy-winning group will kick off the weekend with a “neighborhood with family” performance on July 3rd. Proceeds will go to his nonprofit camp Southern Ground, which supports veterans.
“Not only do we have the opportunity to perform for our fans for the first time, but more importantly, we can raise key funds that support the mental health and well-being of our veterans,” Zac Brown told the press release. “All the men and women who have served deserve our deepest gratitude. We invite you to celebrate and support them through music and community.”
The concert, which will feature LiveXLive, will be broadcast on the group’s social platforms starting at 8 p.m. ET.
“These are really unusual circumstances, because usually under pressure the fun and music always survive. People want to feel good. They want to go out and see the music, and we want to be there as a beacon to remind them that everything is going” OK in hard times, but this is crippled because people can’t get together, “he said at the time.
Brown also said he doesn’t think the band will continue touring until 2021.
For now, live streaming and drive-in concerts seem to be the new norm for music lovers.
