Marriage & Family Life : Damart Solves All Summer Wedding Outfit Dilemmas
on 2010/7/23 12:20:00 (133 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Damart puts an end to shopping nightmares with a fabulous range of women's clothing guaranteed to turn heads. The wedding season is nearly upon us and that means a lot of women frantically trying to find the perfect outfit for the special day. Invariably it is the bride who gets accused of turning into 'bridezilla' as the big day approaches; however, most women will admit that they can be less than pleasant company when trying to find the perfect outfit for any occasion; and with a wedding it is somehow even more important to get it right. Especially if a close relative to the couple is tying the knot, it's nice to make an effort and look one's best for the photos.

For occasions which require a daytime to evening look, the Diamante Front Dress, GBP35, is a brilliant choice. A slimming cut throughout, sleeves to flatter the tops of the arms and a flattering, rather than revealing, V neckline means this dress is incredibly wearable for the more sophisticated lady. Wear with fabulous heels to dance the night away. Also bang on trend with this season's must wear florals is the Rose Print Dress, GBP39, with lovely pale and deep pink rose detail and a V neck line., it could easily be dressed down with a cardigan and flats or alternatively, teamed with a large hat and jacket for a more formal occasion. Damart's range of women's clothing includes a great choice of summer dresses guaranteed to make any woman feel feminine and perfect for a variety of summer occasions.

Marriage & Family Life : When the Fireworks Fizzle: How to Stoke the Flames of Lasting Love
on 2010/7/10 15:20:00 (183 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Marital bliss is not all it’s cracked up to be. Oh, sure, it’s great while it lasts, but therein lies the problem—marital bliss has all the staying power of a Fourth of July sparkler. Long-lasting, transformational marriages rely on more than passion to thrive, say authors Gary and Patty Tyra in Beyond the Bliss: Discovering Your Uniqueness in Marriage (Biblica Publishing, $14.99, paper, ISBN:9781606570401). “The cultivation of truly healthy, transformational marital relationships is of huge importance, not only to married couples themselves, but to society at large. One of the most important, missionally beneficial things Christians can do is to model for their respective communities what truly healthy, long-lasting marriages look like,” the Tyras say.

The Tyras draw on noted psychologist and author M. Scott Peck’s premise that life is difficult and problems inevitable. Healthy people learn four essential life disciplines to deal with them: delayed gratification, owning responsibility, dedication to truthfulness, and balance. Applying these disciplines to marriage is hard work, requiring sacrifice and some suffering, say the Tyras. Yet it’s only through applying the disciplines that spouses grow as individuals and couples to reach their full potential in Christ.Beyond the Bliss explains the four life disciplines in detail in Part 1, then applies them in Part 2 to major marital issues—communication, money management, division of responsibilities, in-laws, and sex. A liberal smattering of real-life illustrations helps flesh out the concepts. Each chapter ends with questions for reflection.

Marriage & Family Life : You Don't Have to Hire the Hotel or Venue Disc Jockey By Donnavon Smith
on 2010/7/4 9:40:00 (137 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Every time my phone rings with a potential customer on the other end of the line, the first question they ask is how much. I tell them and then they go on to tell me how the DJ that the hotel is providing costs almost two to three times my rate. This is no surprise to me, just read some of the hotel reviews for the Bahamas and you will see that being nickel and dimed is one of their first complaints. Hell I've even had venues that charged the bride for electricity and $1200.00 for generator rental, that's the price of a new top of the line generator.

According to "About.com" the Bahamas averages 4,000 destination weddings per year. Let's say there are 20 hotels in the Bahamas that cater to destination weddings, which means each hotel should average 200 weddings per year. Fifty two weeks in a year works out to about three to four weddings a week. Most weddings occur on a Saturday so three weddings for Saturday, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that's during peak season. With three weddings a day do you honestly think that one hotel disc jockey has the time to invest into customizing your special day? Chances are he/she is going to be a one size fits all DJ and all three of those weddings are going to be very similar, the most you may be able to get is customized playlist if you're lucky. If you are happy with that then by all means go for it, but if you want more, if you feel as if you deserve more, scout your own DJ.

Marriage & Family Life : Children - The True Victim Of Divorce
on 2010/6/23 11:40:00 (122 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- The family is the basic unit of society and every care should be taken to preserve it by the state, church and the family itself. However, if counseling and reconciliation cannot solve the conflict within the family, divorce maybe seen as the best solution. To couples with kids however the situation is much more complex as compared to childless couples. Divorce can be devastating to the children and may leave a long-lasting scar that may affect their being useful citizens of the community. During the divorce process, the offspring’s will go through emotional conflicts. Anger is prevalent. Anger at the present condition, anger towards their parents, themselves and some may feel that they are to at fault for the separation.

Feelings of sadness, misery and loss are felt because there will be changes in where they will live. They will lose the other parent, their friends, their school, people and circumstances that stabilize their daily lives. They will feel rejection. Studies have shown that boys and girls are affected differently and respond in various manners. Boys are more rowdy because they have to show and act out their inner feelings. They go on fights, they are defiant. They cause disturbances and would not be still even for a short period of time. They are the ones who will turn to drugs and alcohol. They girls on the other hand suffer inwardly and become introverts.

Marriage & Family Life : Can You Tell if Your Wife Has Been Cheating on You?
on 2010/6/14 21:40:00 (161 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Smelling of Cologne
If your cheating wife returns home with the smell of men's cologne then she has been close with a man who does. You don't like Burberry, could it be her boss? Probably not.

Acting distant to your attention
If your cheating woman was once very attentive and happy in the household and now returns home and gives you the cold shoulder, could be the result of an affair. A woman whom is involved in an extra affair will usually distant herself from her partner without consciously doing so. You thought your wife loved attention, but maybe now she is getting it somewhere else!

Marriage & Family Life : Lessons Learned From My Grandchildren's High School Graduation Party
on 2010/6/13 22:00:00 (126 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- High school graduation parties have become elaborate events. Some parents really get into the party spirit, investing in decorations, catered food, favors, and even home renovation. My husband and I have been raising our grandchildren ever since their parents were killed in separate car crashes. To be honest, we did not have the energy for an elaborate party. At first, my twin grandchildren did not seem to be interested in a party. But as they learned more about their friends' parties their interest increased. Aisha Sultan writes about graduation parties in a "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" article, "Throw a Graduation Party that Fits Your Grad." A graduation party is one of life's milestones, according to Sultan, and parents should talk to the graduate about their expectations, party ideas, and budget. "Those who shy from the spotlight may prefer a more casual and laid-back setting," she explains.

My grandchildren suggested an ice cream social, a simple, proven idea, and we went with it. The party was on a Sunday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. We borrowed a huge tent in case it rained and the tent saved the day. Though the afternoon started out sunny, dark clouds appeared in the West, and two rainstorms passed over. Guests went into the tent and some students crowded into our messy garage. Right after the party the people who loaned us the tent took it down. We were impressed with their efficiency and so were the neighbors. "It was a successful party," my grandson commented and I agreed with him. The party also gave me new insights into my grandchildren's lives.

Marriage & Family Life : The 4 Key Psychological Factors For a Positive Birth Experience
on 2010/6/12 20:10:00 (109 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- "There is power that comes to women when they give birth. They don't ask for it, it simply invades them. Accumulates like clouds on the horizon and passes through, carrying the child with it." Sheryl Feldman
Factor 1 - Generating and maintaining a trance state. When women are experiencing a calm and relaxed labor they find themselves going into a trance state, this is a completely natural state and is key to the outcome of the birth. The complete unfaltering focus of attention that mum has on what is happening inside her body needs to be maintained and protected in order for her to work with her body and baby successfully. In a similar way to the telephone ringing when you're reading a good book, an interruption to this trance state will distract mum and cause her to need to refocus her attention. Achieving and maintaining trance states during labor can be quite difficult when in an unfamiliar environment (eg hospital), where comings and goings are assumed to be out of the control of mum and birth companion, however it is key that either a birth professional or birth companion recognizes the importance of the trance state and removes or reduces opportunities for this to be impacted. This can include:

* Enhancing how relaxed mum is by focusing on all of her sense e.g. favorite scent, soft blanket, relaxing sounds, favorite picture to focus on, visualizations incorporating all of her senses
* Reducing volume of people present and controlling who is able to enter the room
* Removing clocks (time distortion happens during a trance and recognition of how long you have been in labor can break a trance state)
* Reducing examinations as much as possible
* Reducing medical noises in the room which may increase anxiety
* Reduce monitoring as much as possible - listening to a machine means she's not listening to her body
* Allow mum to stay in her own comfortable clothes
* Birthing pool can be particularly good, not only for how relaxed they make mum feel, but also they act as a barrier to people entering her "zone"

Marriage & Family Life : Healthy Tips For the Whole Family
on 2010/6/12 14:20:00 (152 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- Choose to remain physically active

Avoid using your car for going around to local market if that's close by. Use a bicycle or go walking. Plan weekends with family such way that includes some activity for all. There are many options. Go swimming, ride a bike or let the family have a game of soccer. Even a dance party is healthy.

Cut down your viewing time

Watching TV seems to have some direct relation to being overweight. That's because it's an inactive way of having fun. It takes away the chances of your going out or doing some useful activity within the house and all the time you are left watching commercials of unhealthy foods that you tend to eat. Restrict its viewing, especially for children and at meal times.

Marriage & Family Life : I Had an Affair and the Guilt is Tearing Me Up Inside and is Negatively Affecting My Marriage
on 2010/6/9 16:20:00 (168 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- I recently heard from a wife who had a very short term affair. She said that there was no real emotional attachment or commitment. She described it as a fling (which she immediately regretted) and which happened during a very vulnerable time in her life. Her mother had been dying of cancer and her husband was unfortunately obligated to travel for work. She regretted this immensely and told me that the guilt was "eating up her inside." She said that she couldn't even bare to look at her husband and felt sick to her stomach every time she thought about what she did.

Plus, she felt sure that the deception and guilt was plastered all over her face and that her husband suspected that something was very wrong. She was unsure as to whether she should tell her husband about the cheating. She didn't know if this was going to make things better or worse. But, she did know that she felt as though the guilt was ruining her life and she wanted for it to stop as soon as possible. In the following article, I'll try to offer some insights on the guilt that often follows having an affair.

Marriage & Family Life : Appropriate Contraceptive Method Decision
on 2010/6/8 13:40:00 (131 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- With the expansion of birth control options in recent years, the range of choices for women has broadened. But at the same time, this means that potential concerns have also multiplied, when some of these methods run up against the woman's beliefs or comfort zones. So while it's good that she now has more choices than just the diaphragm and the pill, it also means she has to take more things into account as she chooses a contraceptive method. Some concerns about using a hormone-based contraceptive revolve around worries about the chemicals. Many women recall that in the early days of the pill, high dosages of progesterone caused some women to suffer blood clots or strokes. Even though those dosages are now drastically reduced, some women are still uneasy about possible health risks. Others have spiritual reasons for not wishing to interfere with natural body chemistry. This leaves them looking for more natural birth control methods and relying on bodily rhythms.

However, if the woman doesn't mind the hormones, she has several types of contraceptive method to choose from, yet there can still be interfering factors. Say she has the worst time remembering even to take a daily vitamin. Is she likely to have better luck taking a daily birth control pill? She might prefer the birth control patch worn on the skin. Unless, of course, she's got a skin condition that would be irritated by it, in which case this method would go down the drain.

Marriage & Family Life : 2 Memorable Moments in My Family Life
on 2010/6/7 23:00:00 (142 reads)
Marriage & Family Life

(Prudent Press Agency) --- -My son speaks in adorable baby babble
The other day, I was at work when I received a call from home. I get calls from home almost once a day so this is nothing unusual. However, instead of hearing my wife's voice over the line, instead, I hear my son's cute voice babbling away happily. I have absolutely no idea what he's talking about since he hasn't started talking in English yet. But he's so happy that I just had a one way conversation with him. This is a moment that I feel I and every parent should treasure forever. You will have your teenage years to deal with in the future. But for now just savor the present and do speak to your children in proper English. Even though it doesn't seem that way, they do learn from you and you wouldn't want them to be picking up baby talk from you. I can understand though as it is really adorable listening to the baby babble coming out of his mouth.

-My son and potty training
His potty training when he's awake is quite good now. Most of the time, he is able to tell that he needs to relieve his bladder and he usually starts to walk to the toilet door and fiddle with the door knob. I myself needed to train myself to tell when he was just playing and when he needed to go. Other times, we just make sure he visits the loo before we make a move, so he doesn't need to relieve himself along the way, especially with no access to the loo. He is not yet able to visit the loo when he is in bed though. What we do in the meantime is to let him pee before he goes to bed. We also let him sleep on a thin mattress which is easy to clean and dry. He has no problems sleeping in the mattress. Until he is able to control his bladder over the night.
